Work is nearing completion on the gym extension at the Vale of White Horse Leisure Centre, and today new automatic doors were installed.
The final shape of the doughnut shaped extension is now plain to see.
There are lots of gyms looking for your membership. Abingdon School has a banner advertising their facilities which now include Tilsley Park. A flier came through our door yesterday for the ‘Fitness In Time – Ladies Only Gym’.
There are lots ways to keep fit and some are free. We often have a quick go on the exercise equipment at Ladygrove Meadow, off the Drayton Road, when passing that way.
Leisure and gym would not be two words I would combine 😉
I share your view, Denton; however, the green gym at Ladygrove meadow is an excellent facility – and it doesn’t cost to join!
There’s one at Boxhill Park as well.
The health walks from the Leisure Centre are good. They are free and there are 3 different levels. Gentle, moderate and brisk. They set off from the Leisure centre at 10.30am on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Isn’t an outdoor gym in the plans for Abbey Meadow.
I used to pay £35 a month to go to the gym but found i never went and so was such a waste of money. So i spoke to them and although i never ever go, I’m now on the £15 a month tariff. I still never go – but have made a £20 saving! How good is that!!?
Speak to them again, Daniel. If they knock another £20 off they will be paying you £5 a month not to go.
That sounds a familiar story.
Way back in the days when we still had a Far East Fleet and I was based in Singapore, we signed up for “Athletics Anonymous”. Whenever you felt the urge to go jockstrapping there was a number to ring and someone would come round and drink with you until either the feeling wore off or the 2pm monsoon set in !
Love that story, Spike.
