Anyone whose been to Hong Kong may have seen Aberdeen Harbour? It’s a stinking sprawl of a unique group of water gypsy, they add little if anything to the immediate community and pay little or no tax at all.
Last week I walked my dog along the tow path

Oh dear, sorry about that? I couldn’t help but consider the similarities between Aberdeen Harbour and Abingdon on Thames, from about the sailing club all the way to the lock-in counted no less than 28 “vessels” of various sizes, shapes and condition, most being habited, the smoke from their stoves was choking, some had dogs off their lead, bicycles chained against posts or railings and all things considered they made the river a scruffy eyesore. What’s more many haven’t moved for months, I noticed signs to the effect of no permenant mooring, but clearly they’re ignoring that? Not only that some fishermen were complying there was no space on the banks to fish Abingdon anymore!

So the outdoor pool is going to be closed all next summer just like the indoor pool was closed for a good chunk of this summer, it’s a good job MattyB isn’t running a brewery!
