Seems we may have another building in our midst soon? There is an appeal on the Abingdon Muslims web site for donations toward a mosque they are planning to build.
“the Muslims of Abingdon rely upon the generosity of two who have allowed us to use their business premises as a Masjid on the weekends” – ” a preliminary scheme shall be uploaded to website as soon as possible”
    Wonder where it will be?

I noticed a sign on the old jail indicating that one of the three restaurant units has now been let. Does anybody have any further information as to who will be occupying it and when it will open?

Frozen Yogurt did not stand a chance. I had this strange dream of taking it over and selling hot soup and baked potatoes. More suitable for our climate. Are the Abingdon Muslims Shia or Sunni as they hate each other? We banned Donald Trump for his anti Muslim stance. I hope they do not invite these god awful hate preachers to preach in this planned Masjid in Abingdon.. We allow the hate preachers to enter this country even with false passports and then support them and their families on benefits while they preach death to all Kaffir and homosexuals.

Indeed I am Iain, indeed I am, I’ll be perfectly honest with you I’m truly concerned for the future of my children (and grandchildren too) The free world as we know it is facing its biggest threat since the Nazis took power some 80 years ago, and while I totally accept the majority might be peaceable people, so we’re the majority of Germans in the 1930’s too and I find people who fail to see and understand the similarities between what happened to Germany and the dreadful consequences that followed naively incredulous.

Captainkaos2 – I don’t think setting up a Mosque somewhere in the Middle East would be very convenient for Muslims living in Abingdon.

And I don’t think there is any analogy between Daesh now and Germany in the 30s and nor is there any evidence that any Muslims in or near Abingdon have any sympathy for Daesh at all.

Janet – Donald Trump has not been banned, despite his rather horrid outpourings. The vast, vast majority of Muslims worldwide are peaceful. There have been many more acts of terrorism in the name of Christianity in the country than there have been in the name of Islam, another middle eastern religion that invaded our shores.

The recent events in Abingdon which have caused alarm have not been racially, politically or religiously motivated. They were not perpetrated by terrorists.

We need to keep some perspective and although it may worry a predominantly ‘white’ town, a mosque would complement the already diverse worship options in Abingdon.
