Our local Alzheimers Club has moved their excellent jumble sale to St Nicolas Church this year as the Guildhall is closed. By all accounts they had a very successful sale.
It is the first week of the Abingdon Contemporary Crafts for Christmas Show. This is the 44th consecutive year that this October craft fair has been at the Old Abbey Buildings, and will be back again next week, and next year.
The Abingdon Flower Club were putting together a display for the window of the Community Space in Bury Street. That will be there to view all next week.

The 33rd Abingdon Marathon – Sunday 18th October – starting at 9am at Tilsley Park, and ending at Tilsley Park from 11:30am until 2pm.
Abingdon Artists Autumn Exhibition – St Nicolas Church From Monday, 19th October to Saturday, 24th October, 12:00am-5:00pm
The monthly Adfas lecture is at Trinity Church, as the Guildhall is closed. The subject is the ‘Medieval Illuminated Books of Hours’ by Christopher de Hamel. Wednesday 21st October either Morning 10.20 am or Afternoon 1.50 pm.
Mayor of Abingdon-on-Thames Charity Quiz – Friday, 23rd October, 7:00pm-10:30pm at Long Furlong Community Centre.
As I said in another thread we went to the craft fair by were put off going in by the £4,50 entrance fee ! Pay to shop? No thank you .

I still have some tickets available for the quiz on Friday! We are raising money for the Over-70s Christmas Party (which will be free to all guests)
If we raise more than we need – the rest will go into the Mayor’s Charity Fund.
The tickets are £15 to include ploughman’s buffet and a dessert.
Suggested team size is 6-8, but we are happy to accept smaller teams, or we can try and put you in another team.
