There is no chance to practice before the day, and dry land coaching is given before teams get into their boats.

Teams raced against each other to get a good time and progress to the semi finals and finals, raising money for their own charities and the Rotary charity.

A good time was had by all. Some teams had better times than others.

What a totally bonkers day! Loved it! And a fabulous way to make some money for charity and support. Even managed to buy some lovely mosaic Christmas decorations made locally. Making a note to go again next year.

Why not make it two weekends in a row and come back next weekend for Heritgae Open Day? There will be something for everyone, from rats, rozzers and ruffians (courtesy of the Ragged Victorians) to a chance to see some of Abingdon’s historic buildings which aren’t normally open to the public. Also, Morris Dancers, singing, Punch and Judy, Victorian bowls match – and much much more…
