Pavement Art

Pavement Art
First I spotted a small river scene chalked at St Helen’s Wharf.

Then there was a huge array of marks stretching along half of Marcham Road, and part of Ock Street – a huge abstract piece of art, covering not only the pavements but also the road.

that’s not abstract… Or are you playing wind up? That was put there by the work men the other night!

Put there presumably for the traffic lights required by the Drayton Road development 🙂

I know someone in Kennington, who on seeing a similar set of marks indicating which cracks in a pavement needed repairing, bought her own can and added a few more which she felt needed sorting at the same time

I image these may mark the service runs of all the cables and pipes under the pavement before the road work begins.

Yes we had temporary traffic lights and surveyors for a few days along that part of Marcham Rd / Ock St. A right pain, and as usual everything ground to a standstill.

I reckon the chalk marks are left by the surveyors.

They can keep their hands off our mini roundabouts 🙂

I for one can’t wait. The traffic at this end of town is going to be a pleasure in a few weeks time. And…think of all the extra council tax/services we’ll all benefit from from the new houses!

I noticed the same sort of marks all over the Drayton Road near the field they want to fill with houses- just out of Abingdon past the Traffic Lights at Preston Rd.
