Walk on the Ridgeway

Thanks to Naomi for sending me this…
Ridgeway
Naomi helps fund raise for a local Oxford/Abingdon charity called Flexicare. They have been going for thirty years and provide sitting in / care at home for families who have a child with severe physical and/or learning disability.

Over the weekend the charity had two fundraising walks around the Ridgeway including a wheelchair accessible route.

The refreshment tent was at Scutchamer Knob.

The next Flexicare fund raiser is a concert at the Natural History Museum in Oxford on June 19th.

Brilliant Naomi for sending in these photos and thank you for putting them on the blog for us Mr blog-man!! These annual walks are always happy affairs and raise money that is crucial to the survival of this flexible local service. Many local people have been supporting us for years and a good number of the current [and former] Flexicare familes and children come along too. 128 walkers this year in glorious weather and glorious countryside! The concert next month will be a real treat too.

Oh how wonderful walking the Ridgeway. When living in Abingdon in my teenage years members of St. Nics used to walk on the Ridgeway every Good Friday after the service. Is it still done ? Hope lots was raised, well done to all the walkers.
