BBC Radio Oxford were in the Friends of Abingdon Community Shop, in Bury Street, as the final part of their “Big Ballot Box Tour” series.
They had brought with them a set of Lego figures of the candidates which have been made by a historian in Oxford – see http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2015-england-32531812
Five of the seven candidates for the Oxford West and Abingdon constituency were there. Those who missed the broadcast can catch up via http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02qf5ks .
(Thanks to Hester for the pictures.)
Once the politicians were out, Abingdon Flower Club took over the shop, and were busy arranging flowers as 1st May is National Flower Arranging Day. The displays will be left up in the window over the bank holiday weekend.
The displays in the shop look really fantastic – well done to the flower club
Well…those flowers really do look lovely!
The flowers really are fantastic – they even have a maypole! Photos dont do them justice – go and take a look
So…having so far only listened to the first half hour of the broadcast, my summary is:
The Blues want to build on the greenbelt/north of Dunmore Rd….and the Yellow team don’t. Is that right? (The red also want to build there too, but the purple and greens don’t).
