The best thing about giving blood is the cup of tea and selection of biscuits afterwards.
There are not as many people pre-booked as usual this Friday at Preston Road Community Centre so blood will be gratefully received.
For many of us this is a chance to give something back: I am only alive because I had a blood transfusion at birth.
I would love to give blood, but unfortunately mine is not acceptable as I’ve had leukaemia, which need a bone marrow transfusion – thirty years ago next month.
But if you’re healthy, please, please give blood.
I have a rare blood type but they said that they did not want my blood as they do not accept blood from people over a certain age. Talk about feeling old!
i’m all set to get drained for the first time since moving here from Crowmarsh. Hope to see many more of you there!
I would but mine is not accepted; apparently because I am homosexual.
Maybe one day the government will change this.
