Time to Dredge the River Thames in Abingdon

Time to Dredge
The side of the River Thames opposite Wilsham Road, in Abingdon, has had a dredging boat in position for a couple of weeks. The plan must be to make the Thames through Abingdon more easy to navigate. A number of pleasure boats have run aground here over recent months, despite a warning buoy.

Sandbanks are regarded by the Navy as educational devices. For those landlubbers who fail to understand the buoys, kindly laid by the river managers, – RTFM ! (or continue to provide amusement for the natives)
The shallows that will continue to grow opposite Wilsham Road and on the inside of any river bend are unlikely to inflict significant boat damage.
