Oxfordshire Chilli Festival and Rugby 7s

Oxfordshire Chilli Festival
The Oxfordshire Chilli Festival was on the Market Place in Abingdon throughout the day. There were stalls serving meals with chilli, and lots of stalls with chilli sauces to sample and buy, including  Chillies2u who grow a wide variety of chillies on their farm near Witney in Oxfordshire. They then sell their own sauces and chillies at Farmers Markets, and over the Internet.

Throughout the day there were also a variety of bands

and a chilli eating competition.

Competitors were provided with a glass of milk and a bag. If they needed to drink the milk or threw up in the bag they were out of the competition. The winner was the last one still eating chillies.

Also at Abingdon Rugby Club throughout the day was the annual Rugby 7s competition. Abingdon can be seen in green and yellow playing Chinnor.

Backstreeter, you never cease to amaze ! how is it that one person with a push bike and small camera manages to capture, (without bias or judgement) so much of life, past and present, in Abingdon ?
You probable give more to the people of Abingdon than any other individual I can think of and voluntarily too!
I think its about time the TC and others recognised your work and bestowed some sort of honour on behalf of everyone, bloggers or not.
M.B.E ? come on you Councillors, propose him please?

Hi Monica and thanks for that, while not wishing to be-little your award to AF, or the valued help you give him I’m sure readers will agree he is worth a bigger award too?

I also really enjoyed the Chilli Festival.

I particularly enjoyed the sets by Tom Hingley and Mo Evans and came away with a good collections of sauces and pickles.

I avoided the chilli eating contest this time!

Well done to Dawn Massam for working so hard to get it up and running.
