Anybody wanting to walk along the Ock Valley walk will find that the path is still blocked. Water levels are down a long way down from a week ago, but protective barriers remain.
There are not only barriers on the Ock Valley Walk, and the Margaret Brown garden, but also on the viewing area on Wilsham Road, where a hole has appeared during the floods.
The Ock IS now quite walkable although very muddy.
Who is responsible for putting the barricades up ?
The Vale of White Horse , The Town Council. or ?
The floods have past, let us have our access to Public Land back.
– Last week I tweeted the Mayor of Abingdon and a Town Councillor requesting removal of the barriers and did not receive a response !
they are probably erring on the side of caution – someone is bound to slip in the mud and blame the council.
They have added more barriers at St helens mill… Its right round the corner now
