Abingdon Fashion are having a closing down sale, and will be open on alternating Saturdays until they have sold most of the remaining stock – or the lease comes to an end.
The shop started as a way of people selling second hand clothes, but since being renamed as Abingdon Fashion they have been selling new clothes for women and children.
lots of empty shops down there now – I went in The Grapes last night and it was empty, the staff weren’t welcoming at all. on the contrary they were quite rude.
Its bizarre with Witherspoon opening over the road you’d think they would be making an effort to increase trade – I heard it was on the market, you’d have to be brave to buy it.
Sorry that Abingdon Fashion was not able to keep open. Sadly, the ‘high streets’ everywhere seem to be having a hard time.
What will people do when their town centres become ‘ghost towns’. No social hub any more, no places for people to meet? There never was a more compelling argument for ‘use it or lose it’.
so sorry to hear that this shop is not able to keep open loved going in there always something different to buy from all the other shops !!! the lovely lady !! I think her name was Debbie she was so friendly always welcomed you with a big smile & asked if you needed any help with any thing MORE THAN I CAN SAY FOR OTHER SHOPS IV BEEN IN !!!! hope you have better luck in opening in a better town (GOOD LUCK) I hope you get better rates than Abingdon ILL BE LOOKING FOR YOU lots of luck BABS xxxx
