Big Pink Box for Recycling Small Electricals

The toilet in West St Helen Street Car Park has been replaced by a big pink box for recycling small electricals. There are regulations to try to reduce the tonnes of broken and outmoded electricals going to landfill. So this pink box must be doing some good. Better still would be toasters

and cameras made to last.

Actually this is a fantastic idea and very welcome (for me anyway!!). People without transport cannot get to the Official Refuse Disposal sites and items such as small electrical appliances cannot be placed in home refuse bins. So, well done to whoever instituted thus facility.

I completely agree that having the collection point is a good idea (so long as it doesn’t get left overflowing) but WHY the hideous colour? I thought we were trying to improve the visual appearance of our town?

(Queue cries of “bah humbug”, “old fuddy duddy” etc!)

It is a good idea, unil it is a site for fly-tipping, larger electrical items that won’t fit…Then like VOWHDC sites, most likely be removed. I sincerely hope not, I should have an electric toothbrush/with a rechargable ‘battery’ to dispose of.

The battery recycle on top of my Green wheely bin, would refuse it (pun intended 😉

I generally get about 5-10,000 spam comments a week and the spam software gets rid of them but some got through last week. So I have removed now.
