Chaunterell Way to Tesco Ock Path Tarmacked

Ock Path improvements
One of the longest running complaints of the Tithe Farm and Ladygrove Residents association was remedied last week. Instead of a muddy uneven path beside the River Ock between Chaunterell Way and Tesco there is now a tarmac path.
Ock Path improvements
The work has been done by the Vale of the White Horse District Council.

In the same area, alongside the Ladygrove Meadow, the Environment Agency has been clearing trees, and dredging the River Ock. I have not heard any official word about dredging but there was a large pile of mud a month ago that is now gone. This area did see flooding in 2007.

Mendelssohn, story telling windows, and Hope Within Us at St Helens

St Helens
At St Helens Church this afternoon there was a rehearsal.
St Helens
Mendelssohn’s Elijah, will be performed tonight by the Cranford Choral Society and the Southern Sinfonia.
St Helens
Last week I went to St Helen’s for a Sunday morning service, and Jane Baun, Associate Priest, spoke on the story shown in the river facing windows – all created in the 1890s. Each tells a different story of Jesus after the resurrection.
St Helens
In particular she spoke on the story where Jesus appeared to the disciples when they had been fishing, and end up cooking them fish for breakfast.

Jane will be leading tours of the church as part of The Hope within us week which happens in a months time. There will be lots of events, and at the end of the week former Arch Bishop Rowan Williams will lead a morning service. Details are on the Hope within us page.
