
A first time voter is being interviewed for a program for Spanish people wanting to learn English. There were a lot of young people out voting for the first time.

This was considered a marginal seat, and it looked like there was a good turn out, and it will be very tight.

Londis – The Second Coming
A new Londis is soon to open.

It will be where the Local off licence used to be in the Vineyard.

The town centre Londis recently changed to become a Bargain Booze, but now another smaller Londis is coming.
Thanks to Jones for spotting this one for me. It does remind me that, as we go to the polls, there has been a virtual smoke screen during the election campaign….
Sometimes it is useful to read the foreign press rather than newspapers that have allied themselves to one party or another.
Azuri Opening

Azuri Fashion Accessories has just opened in the Abbey Shopping Centre in Abingdon.
On Radio Oxford today Wesley Smith was asking whether Abingdon was doing enough to win back shoppers. This is because the road from the Milton Interchange into Didcot is to have temporary traffic lights from now until mid August, and will make it more difficult for shoppers wanting to get to Didcot from Abingdon.
Elderly Missing Tortoise – East St Helen Street

There is a elderly tortoise, called Mobo, that has gone missing from the garden of 33 East St Helen Street. He has been living with the family for over fifty years, so you can imagine they are very worried and upset. If anybody has information please let them know.
He is about 90 years old and has distinctive marks on his under shell as the result of an operation some years ago.
