Of Dylsexia and Art

Bhajan Hunjan
The Vale Council usually manages to get major builders to put some of their money into a local arts project to give a bit more character to the new housing area. In the case of  the Tanneries estate, off the Drayton Road, there is paving of ‘polished and sandblasted red and black granite‘  showing plants and animals found on the neighbouring Ock Valley walk.
Bhajan Hunjan
It has been created by the artist Bhajan Hunjan with the help of children from the Unicorn School – Abingdon’s very own school for children with dylsexia.

The Unicorn School says on it’s website, in their section about art,  ‘Pablo Picasso was dyslexic!’

Good Light on East St Helen Street

John Auger Art
While ‘Abingdons Got talent’ was on, I went up on the museum roof to try to get some photos. None of them turned out that well, when I put them on the computer, but I did meet up with an interesting artist, on the museum roof, sketching East St Helen Street.

He said the light was good.
John Auger Art
Here is one he did back in May of shadows stretching across East St Helen Street. He said the light had been good then too. There is more of his art on jaugar.net.

Margaret Brown’s Folly

Trolley Art
Thanks to Tata (The Abingdon Trolley Artist)  for sending me this picture

The Trolleys were previously seen in the River Thames just beneath Margaret Brown Garden, in Abingdon. One  ‘was falling to bits‘. The other ‘was still in good nick’ and ‘an easy push‘.

The new installation at the Tesco Carpark in Abingdon is “Margaret Brown’s Folly.”

Another Scene Change

Scene Change on Drama Festival
I took this pictures during the short interlude as the Didcot Set was carried out and the Henley one carried in.

At the Unicorn Theatre this week there are a series of short plays and this  evening Didcot Phoenix were followed by H.A.O.D.S (Henley-on-Thames Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society).
Scene Change at Fat Face

Meanwhile at Fat Face another scene change was taking place.
