Abingdon Bridge Repairs – part 2

Bridge repairers have returned to finish off the work they could not complete last December. Their repair work last year allowed the bridge to be reopened after having restrictions from May 2021 to November 2022.

Signs suggest the single lane restrictions are temporary this time and the work will be completed before Easter, just 9 working days.
Work on Abingdon Bridge to begin in March

Work will begin on strengthening the first arch of Abingdon Bridge in late March. A notice has gone up in the Thames Street car park to say no parking from 20th March to 27th April.
The bridge was reduced to a single lane with traffic lights from May 2021 to November 2022 to protect the arch and allow exploratory work. I would expect the traffic lights to return during the repair work.
Traffic Lights removed from Abingdon Bridge (temporarily?)

The traffic lights were gone this morning.
Traffic lights had restricted access on Abingdon Bridge since May 2021, when a problem was detected. Work began on the weakened bridge at the end of November 2022.

The work pontoon has also gone.
P.S. See the comment. This could be temporary.
