Trinity Learning Logo Design

Trinity Learning has been going for ten years, providing a unique kind of support to schools. Rosemary ,who runs Trinity Learning, asked local schools to design a new logo.
Trinity Learning Logo
This one from a child at Carswell school did not win.
Trinity Learning Logo
Neither did this mood board showing a development of ideas with a final idea.
Trinity Learning Logo
Neither did any of these designs win. All were very good.
Trinity Learning Logo
The winning drawing was by seven year old Olivia from St Peter CE Primary School in Wootton. The design shows a dove flying out, and the judges felt this captured the essence of the work done by Trinity Learning – setting staff and children free to go in peace. The wings of the dove also looked like a hand. The children’s future is in our hands.

Professionals from MCC Design (in Long Hanborough) then transformed the winning drawing into the final logo.

These drawings, and many more, are on display at 35 Ock Street over the the next couple of weeks. There will be a prize giving in March.

Twelve Sheep a Scattered

There was late night shopping till 8 p.m on Stert Street this Tuesday (4th December 2012), and will be again the next two Tuesdays (11th and 18th). In the window of Sweet Chocolate there was a Sheep poster, and inside a little sheep, which reminded me I was sent an email for the Messy Nativity Sheep Trail – part of the Church in Abingdon’s Christmas Celebrations. It said …
Sheep
This flock of sheep will be scattered among 12 of the town centre shops in time for the Extravaganza and will remain there until Saturday 15th December when they will be rounded up and returned to St. Nicolas Church. Each sheep has a name and there will be a competition (organised by some of the local churches) to collect the names and enter for a prize draw which will take place during the Family Service in St. Nicolas’ Church on Sunday 16th December at 11.00am
Sheep
It is worth mentioning that there were more sheep at the Extravagana than just these twelve. Timmy The Sheep was hamming it up down Stert Street
Sheep
And two very early lambs were dozing in Roysse Court.

Find a Fairy entry forms need to be in by Thursday

Find a Fairy
On Thursday this week the Christmas Extravaganza takes place in Abingdon. The Parade is at 6:45pm. The lights get turned on at 7pm by Nicola Blackwood MP. The winners of the ‘Find a Fairy’ competition will be announced at 8:15pm just before the fireworks.

Since Saturday children (and parents) have been going round the town, finding the fairies – one for each letter of the alphabet – in shop windows. I’m sure ER Goffs will still have some Entry Forms, and this is all the details you need to supply :
