This picture was taken on Sunday. There were bags full of leaves propped against the tree trunks ready for collection when I came back this way earlier today.
There are still lots more leaves to fall. It ain’t winter yet.

Hot September Days, Thunderstorm at Night, and Harvest Moon
After three hot September days, there was heavy rain last night with lightening and thunder. The gap between the lightening and thunder was first thirteen seconds and then eight seconds. It did not get any closer. As a rule of thumb there are five seconds for a mile.
This evening the clouds are lit up by a Harvest Moon – the full moon nearest the Harvest Festival.
Rainbow at Sunset
Thanks to John of Kingfisher Close for some pictures from Tuesday evening
of a rainbow as the sun went down.
Hens and Swans on a Balmy Afternoon in Abingdon
A gaggle of nuns gathered in Abingdon this afternoon. They were not real nuns but had gathered for a Hen Party, and were enjoying the sun.
The River Thames has overflowed onto the Abbey Meadows after some fairly heavy rain last week.
Abingdon also welcomed a number of swans on what was a quite balmy afternoon for this time of year.
Thanks to my wife for the final shot showing a swan from the other side of a Welcome to Abingdon sign.
