Bloggermania

I have put the blog on autopilot for a few days – in order to take an enforced rest … The doctor suggests I may be suffering from what he calls ‘Bloggermania‘. It is becoming a fairly common condition and he prescribes no blogging for a few days so I get a sense of perspective. But as I could not give it up completely, I have secretly pre posted a few old Abingdon postcards and things…

Pigeons in The Urban Setting

Thanks to Carl for this picture of the pigeons spikes before they were installed above a couple of shops on the High Street

and this of the marked van. Unmarked vans are available.

It reminds me of one of my wife’s collage / paintings during the recent foundation art show at Abingdon college. All her pictures were of pigeons in urban settings in black and white.

A day or two before the exhibition she found this pigeon outside our front door, which given her obsession with pigeons did seem strange.

St Helen’s Wharf road markings for posterity

There were new plans for St Helen’s Wharf published on Friday. A report by some traffic consultants employed by the County Council suggest that making the Wharf two way could help the South Abingdon traffic situation. If that does happen that white arrow would go.

This road by the church would become two way, and traffic lights added to this scene,

and this ‘Pedal Cycles Access Only’ would disappear.

But in my humble opinion I’m not sure this addresses the fundamental issue.
