Some claim this Abingdon is turning into a ghost town.

Hi, I just wanted to add that it is a disturbing but timely montage of what is happening to Abingdon. It's a great town, beautifully chronicled by your blog, but the shopping is woeful. What can we do? Perhaps we should send this picture to the VWHDC…?!
Oops.. Sorry Mark! I don't want to scare any shop keepers away, just hope people will use shops like yours. We have some great independent shops and important bigger shops like Woolworths. Halford has been always useful as they were open Sundays. Their closing down sign has the usual message 'Your nearest …. will now be in Didcot.' I won't be visiting them there – I don't do Didcot. We still have two bike shops, but will have to go up the Oxford Road for motor accessories now. P

Man, that's a really disturbing montage you've put together for us remaining retailers. That's the scariest thing I've seen this Hallowe'en…
…and Halfords is closing in January too…
