Today Walk.About.Abingdon – a new company specialising in guided walks around historic Abingdon-on-Thames – did a pilot walk for a mixture of visitors and local people.
There was a French Market in town, and a Craft Fair at the Old Abbey Buildings, so that added a different flavour to today’s 1.5 hour tour.
The aim of the company is “To share the beauty and history of Abingdon-On-Thames with as many people as possible”.
They will be on BBC Radio Oxford on Monday talking about the new venture (7:20am I think – but cannot be sure).
I wish them every success – but the pricing looks a bit expensive to me; £36 for two adults and two children? Or have I misread it?
Maybe I’m just behind the times with what things cost?
Does anyone know who installed the colourful knitted covers on the bike rack in Oxford road?

I had a look at the website. I didnt know the gargoyles on the abbey gateway took youre breath away? I thought you had to hold youre breath otherwise you would turn into one? Or is that what happens after they take youre breath? Does anyone actually know because i’ve never dared not hold my breath just incase and i dont know anyone who knew the guys who turned into the gagoyles that are up there already?
£12 to be walked around Abingdon? That’s taken my breath away.
Thanks for all the comments.
We have taken another look at our pricing and are pleased to announce our new price of £8 per adult. £5 per child under 16 years if accompanied by an adult. Other concessions available. Have a look at the web site.
Kind regards

Thanks for taking the comments on board. The new pricing seems far more realistic to me.
