A new bus shelter has been put in along Marcham Road. It is a good advertising space .
One side features Cornbury Festival.
The other side has a a poster featuring Abingdon Blinds.
This is a joint cycle and footway but it does get very narrow round the top corner. The kerb there is also two or three times the height of a normal kerb.The task was made more difficult because a nearby tree has a preservation order.
..but I fear it’s made McDonald’s corner even more dangerous for pedestrians and cyclists. Remember how that poor girl from Larkmead was killed there!
I disagree. The new layout is safer. Before when crossing on foot it was diffcult to judge the direction of the cars because very few indicated. Now with a separate lane it’s clear.
