should say
* (Right to Left) Abingdon Mayor Duncan Brown and Councillor Martin Smith launch buns at last year’s royal wedding.
It takes genius to get it so wrong.
Once apon a time, Editors tended to be Graduates in English Language, not ‘Meeja-Studies’.
Just to be slightly pedantic: If you threw buns “at” a Royal wedding, would you be at risk of being thrown into the Tower ?
The Grauniad is famous for Miss Spelling maybe Oxfordshire version following on a great tradition.
😉
Their mistakes are also wrong – if by ‘Deputy Major Alasdair Fear’ they mean Alastair Fear. At least they got the occasion right.
No ccmack – the occasion was wrong too. They were definitely not *at* the royal wedding!
Alastair, I shall call you Major Fear from now on!
Major Fear does sound like an epic name….
