A new pathway is being laid under the archway at Twickenham House …
to the Old Gaol the other side – for this is now all part of one complex.
Girders and steel ties lay ready to be used as the skeleton for new buildings.
Older buildings are being merely refurbished.
It will be interesting to see how the barred windows look when people live up there as luxury dwellers – not prisoners.
Vandalism on East St Helen Street – what a truly sickening sight.
it’s a living street – not a museum, sometimes it’s neccesary.
interestingly, when i lived in east st helen street the council told me in writing that i could replace my sash windows with double glazing even though it’s a conservation area – never did get around to it though.
They seem to be taking forever!!! Does anyone know a completion date?
hello i live on oxford road road abingdon i just wanted you to please highlight the fact that tesco has started work at the ox pub my local it was a nice one too. tesco workers with tesco safety vests on were seen putting up boards around the pub and a digger digging the front.
Tescos. Just what every street needs.
What happened to the car valeters who used to be in the car park behind the Ox?
I really miss the car washers they used to have at the main Tescos. I don’t think my car’s been clean since.
@Tim – it’s a big project! Most of the time so far was on the archeology work that has to be undertaken before any building can start on this sort of site.
My guess is that now that building proper has started progress will speed up.
