Not so wonderful

Not such a wonderful world
Blackboards say “Beer Garden Open” but it is not open, except when there is Salter Steamer passing by to pick up passengers, or deposit them. Their first impression may not be so wonderful.
Not such a wonderful world
The garden is on an island with the River Thames flowing either side.
Not such a wonderful world
The gardens are growing weeds, and the furniture is looking sad, after the pub closed at the start of the year.

Most likely turned into housing. after being allowed to become derelict…

Is it still owned by the same Landlord??, who was asking
    so much money for rents.

I’ve always thought the Nags Head was a wasted opportunity – on paper (or on blog) it looks a perfect summer pub, and not bad in winter…. the reality was somewhat different, over years and years and landlords upon landlords. Quite apart from my experience in the 80’s, my brother tells me it was the same in the 70’s.

Unfortunately the 21st century doesn’t seem to have a niche market for dodgy, edge of town, under-age pubs…

    Tescos anyone?

but, I agree, what a missed opportunity…a beautiful setting…it needs the right owners to ‘put it on the map’…with new decor and some original food.
