there's something about a pound shop that makes you want to buy things you otherwise wouldn't – i came out of one with 20 coathangers last time for some reason – plus a box of microwave popcorn.
what!!?? abingdon has enough tacky £ shops! 9tp can only be worse!! UGH!! and i was just starting to think abingdon was starting to do nicely with all the new shops!
ahh well, it will probs go out of buisness sooner or later. 🙂
Am I missing something – I didn't think the Vale or Town Councils had any say over what sort of shop a private landlord rented his/her premises out to?
I have seen elsewhere that the lease is for a trial period of 3 months and another retailer has expresed an interest if it becomes available again so lets wait and see…
So in the place of the former Dawsons with a grand piano in the front window, we're going to have a shop with grand pieces of 90p tat. Come on Town Council/Vale, we're worth more than this! We don't need another shop selling bottles of bleach and cigarette lighters!
Has anyone been in there yet? It's actually really good – I popped in and thought their stuff was good quality. I was really surprised as it's not normally my sort of thing. Not sure about the name though 🙂
at least it makes a change that a shop has opened in town, people are complaining that they are all shutting and then whine when one opens here. ok , its a cost cutter, so was wollies.
well i work there and its a good place to be and a great laugh, rumour has it that were having a total re-branding of the stock to keep up with the 99p sore in Witney, so keep looking in for some bargins!

Looks like the marketing budget was 90p too. I mean, that lady's 'I'm a little teapot' routine is dreadful…

I can't believe what your all moaning about, I thought it was great value and hey its got to be better having an open shop than another closed one.
