The sunken boat at St Helen’s Wharf has been a feature in many photographs. It made the front cover of the Abingdon Herald last year, pictured on a misty morning.
The water was quite clear today, and there is no sign of that boat. It may have fallen apart and floated away during the winter floods. Somebody may know the full story.
Well loved or abandoned eyesore like many of the boats in South Abingdon?
I bet the Impressionists would have painted it and we would be admiring as a great (and expensive) work of art. My eyesore is someone else’s picture.
