On the front of the hoarding by the County Hall have appeared facsimile pictures of the shops behind. This is the town council supporting the shops during the building work.
See! They are still there. If you thought they had all vanished.

The hoarding at the rear will soon be covered in art work commissioned at the same time, it should look good, making the best of a bad situation for the affected traders.
Thank you for including this in your blog!

Right, that’s great, but can we now also have the Town Council supporting the taxi businesses who make their living from the rank at the back of the County Hall, by having giant photographs of taxis placed on the hoarding, or at least a notice with an arrow saying that the taxi rank is behind the hoarding?
How on earth are visitors to our great town of Abingdon supposed to know where they can get a taxi from, if they can’t see them all lined up on the rank through the arcade, like they usually can?
The taxis are businesses, as well, you know, providing an essential service, particularly to the less mobile in our community.
Many thanks,
Dave
…is this really the TC supporting the businesses… who’s idea was it – it IS a great idea? Who’s idea was it to amend the line of the hording by the shops? Was that also the TC/Vale supporting the businesses?
Sorry to be so cynical…but there IS an election coming up!
