Janet has sent a picture of the knitted post-box top on top of the post-box outside Tesco.
The monk on the Tesco traffic island fell over at the start of November and is still down.
She wonders whether a local company could sponsor the roundabout as happens in other towns.
There is an article in the Oxford Mail saying that no one is taking responsibility for the monk which has fallen. The responsibility for it lies solely with the Abingdon Town Council. They are the ones who purchased it and they are the ones ho accepted the sponsorship money for the roundabout, which was in years gone by used for Abingdon In Bloom run by the Abingdon Town Council. Abingdon Town Council have, in previous years maintained the monk and cleared it if graffiti and the odd clothing that use to appear. I know this is true as I worked for the Town Council.
