The first picture show the entrance to the new Art studios and gallery space at John Mason School. It was opened in July this year.
John Mason have an Artist in Residence ( Dionne Barber). She was working with a group of students in one studio area. There were a number of studio areas off a wide central corridor.
This picture is taken from a viewing area overlooking the corridor. The majority of the visitors were just leaving to hear the headteacher (Mr Corrie) give his speech. This was the John Mason School Open Evening. All the secondary schools have an Open Evening this time of year to help Year six pupils decide where they want to go next.
This is one of the rooms upstairs. On the central table are examples of the students’ work. The room is used for animatronics, hence all those VDUs in the background.
Hey there fellow blogger. Hope you’ll be doing an Abingdon 2007 blog. In the meantime, I have my own Abingdon blog at

Hi Mr Black,
Good luck, and I hope you get to put some things right. Not sure about 2007 yet. I always take a day at a time – as I’m not sure where the next idea is coming from.
