Abingdon Beer Festival
The Abingdon Beer Festival attracted a lot of people, including the Abingdon Traditional Morris Dancers, to the Abbey Building this Friday evening.

There was a horrifying burglary in Metcalfe Close, South Abingdon. Three man burst into a house and threatened a young man. It just shows no one is safe.

Well said, Hester. We can aways rely on Janet to be first off with a doom-laden, sad story as a response to a set of happy pictures showing our lovely town at its best.

    Daniel,
Your comments about the flowers are getting tedious, boring and very old.
And how about sorting out the difference between “who’s” and “whose.’ One is right and one is wrong. It makes a big difference.

    My apologies R;

Whose lies should we vote for?

There, hopefully you will be able to follow now.

I will try and take on board your opinion regarding the flowers however I am also quite tedious and boring so I can’t make any promises.

…I also noticed you got the punctuation wrong at the end of “whose”; but I didn’t want to point it out in case I came across as picky. Thankfully, being quite old too, I managed to work out what you meant.

    Phew!

Nine comments and I have no idea what people thought of the beer festival. Get a grip everyone. If you don’t have anything to say that is relevant to the blog post then DON’T COMMENT!

On the subject of the beer festival, I thought it was great, and this event is becoming a bit of a highlight of the Christmas calendar in Abingdon, a refuge even for those who wish to partake in a community celebration but free from the more ‘lairy’ Christmas ‘parties’ that seem to otherwise take over the town at this time of year. Well done to all who make it possible.

Forgive me commenting on the other matter, but Daniel’s references to the flowers have never represented the height of satirical comment but have now become truly tedious.

Oops. It seems you missed the point of my flowers comments….

    The flowers are lovely.

    I am not being sarcastic.

I am also not being sarcastic.

    You too seem lovely.

Isn’t part of the interest of a blog how various contributors diverge?
Sometimes the digressions are quite abrupt, but the genius of this blog is Backstreeter who enriches us with his starting points.

Ah, Flamingo Lane of course there are those who will argue that this has taken trade away from traditional suppliers of such events who rely on the lujes as a valuable revenue stream, mindful to that while they’re in there, theyre not in the usual haunts, similarly the events on the market place that do little to ring the traders tills other than those of the coffee shops

Bah humbug! Hundreds of people out enjoying themselves, we can’t have that, can we!
Since all that was on sale there was provided by local businesses I can’t quite see the problem – and if someone goes along to this and discovers a certain local tipple, they have the remaining 363 days of the year to enjoy it at other local venues!
