The rain fell again this afternoon. The sudden downpour filled the gutters and drains.
The water seems to collect on Stert Street even thought the gutters and drains were doing their work.
There was quite a puddle growing outside Abbey House.
Preparations for Fun in the Park and Music in the Park were underway. Let us hope conditions improve enough to dry it out.
A mini lake had formed at Tilsley Park – holding back some of the waters from Abingdon.
Another mini lake formed at the bottom of Harding Road, near where a stream runs. Presumably it too holds back water to prevent the flooding of properties.
The Northcourt Road junction with the Oxford Road was flooded,
as were many minor estate roads in Abingdon.
I spoke to relatives in Cumbria this evening who said they have had no rain, just 4 weeks of sunshine.
Yesterday in Abingdon, there was thunder and lightening and two downpours. Today there was just a downpour, but what a downpour.
We have hardly had any rain in Luton at all.
It shows true devotion to this blog that you braved the elements to get those pictures from all around Abingdon, Backstreeter.
