Two new spider’s web climbing frames have made an appearance in Abingdon in the last few days…
One is in River Close playground – at the dead centre where there used to be nothing.
The other is at Caldecott Rec. also at the centre where there used to be nothing.
There is, of course, nothing strange or wonderful in all of that …
Why do the children’s play areas in North Abingdon never get anything new?
Carol…email the Town council…they manage the Abingdon play areas. Probably because there’s no money, will be the reply… I emailed the tc about this play area as it is our closest – we’re lucky to get the new spiders web…the other work is just upgrade of the safety matting elswhere as as it wears it no longer meets the safety specs. If yours is worn too…then it may precipitate action…?
The councils are there for you to badger to get things done for you/us…so badger! I do. You never know…they may even listen!!

The town council has had a rolling £20k annual program of playground improvement so it could well be more North Abingdon next year if that continues. This year Hillview off Farm Road is getting some smaller scale equipement but there is not much room there for much, and the area in front of the Kickball at Elizabeth Avenue will get resurfaced.
