New Year Christian Aid walk

Christian Aid Walk
The New Year Christian Aid walk was on January 2nd this year, and started from the Peachcroft Christian Centre. The day was sunny, with ice about when it started at 10 a.m.
Christian Aid Walk
The sponsored 6.5 mile walk, went up to Boars Hill and returned via Bayworth, stopping at Bayworth Chapel for refreshments. The walk did not clash with the Boundary Walk, as so often happens, and so some people could do both walks.

Oh Captain, what sad news. The Anchor deserves better.

Glad to hear the walks went well. Thanks to those who raised money for a good cause.

”Tis sad news PPJS, it has the makings of a good pub, but like most things in life, its people that make things happen and if you’re just not the forward faceing type then it just won’t work, seems another such victim is Throwing Buns? It’s been closed now for some weeks with a note on the door saying I’ll health is the reason for its closure? However it’s been up for sale on the Central Business Agency web site fir ages ( b t w, that web site is always worth a look to see what town businesses are for sale! ) apparently they had some issues with the local environmental health dept too, All of that said the town is looking pretty positive as far as new biz ventures are concerned, I see there’s a new hairdresser opened in Bath st, I noticed today that The lorry delivering food to ASK couldn’t park anywhere near the square or Bath St because Abingdons ubiquitous taxi fleet had overwhelmed the lay-bys, roads and paving, poor chap had to park outside lloyds bank ( blocking that lane ) then trolley his delivery across the busy road, do we really need all those taxis? Oh, I saw a city council private hire cab picking up too, think that’s illegal ?
