What! a Christian play in a Christian country? It’s a wonder the PC brigade haven’t objected to this on the grounds of offending “other faiths” !!
Brilliant effort by all concerned and I hope it’s well attended

I saw some scenes at the press launch. They were brilliant, well worth coming along to watch, and bring a friend!

I went to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem, where Jesus was supposed to have been crucified and where his tomb was reported to be. I thought, things have not changed much since he was alive. The world is still a violent place. Several Christian denominations have ownership of the Church. Apparently they cannot agree on anything to be done to the Church. They have given the keys and responsibility of the Church to a Muslim family so that there is not seen to be any favoritism to any one Christian Group. Incidentally the day of worship for Christians was a Saturday. However, the Roman Emperor Constantine had it changed to Sunday, the worship day of the Roman Sun God, Mithras.

I think that while Constantine (via the Council of Nicaea, 325 AD) ratified Sunday as the day of worship for Christians – to distinguish it from the Jewish sabbath – Christians were already worshipping on the first day of the week (that is, Sunday). See, for example, Revelation 1.9: “I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day.” There is a host of other references to Sunday worship from the early 2nd century on.

Glad that the passion play is to be repeated; congratulations and thanks to those who have worked so hard.

We were blessed with wonderful weather for Sunday and that was no doubt the correct setting out of doors in the market place. However on Good Friday when the play was repeated in Radley College theatre the quality of the acting and music could be seen and heard to be absolutely brilliant. All those taking part are to be heartily congratulated. Praise the Lord.
