The barriers have gone from the top end of Stert Street. It looks as if the Culvert Repairs have been finally completed.
Just a few signs remain in Old Station Yard. The final part of the work took 8 weeks approximately.
Protective barriers have been there since December 2011. So the project took 4 years and 3 months.
Hoorah! About time too!
I look forward to photos in the local press of those responsible congratulating each other like we had after it only took a year to repair the road through Bagley Wood.
Fancy that! I wasn’t sure I’d live long enough to see those barriers removed and I’m only 42!
Glad to see this finally sorted out!
I was convinced the road would collapse before the repairs were done, so well done everyone!

Thanks Colin.
Only The Veil would think it is wise to suddenly find and urgently spend £800,000 on the multi story car park when it could well be that the whole area will get redeveloped.
The carpark has been awful for decades. Another year or two won’t make any difference…but if The Veil spends our money on it now…how will that affect any future development?
I know that no one is queuing up to develop the area…but I’d imagine that a “brand spanking new – or…”looks nice but really poorly done” multi story car park is going to limit the available space to “do something”.
Mind you…as the best we can come up with is A, N Other clone town…perhaps it doesn’t make any difference anyway.
Sometimes…I really do wonder….
Still…it is good that we are getting a bigger Superdrug.
So true Daniel, but, What is going to happen with the old Superdrug??…
Does this mean the buses will be stopping there again? I’m sure I saw a stop behind the barriers.
What do you mean? Why would anything have to happen to the old Superdrug?
