The notices say they are opening on 30th November – but they are open today as well.

walked in on Monday and pretty much walked out again, rubbish. Hardly anything in it apart from books and stationery!. Was hoping it would have a few more toys and kids bits. Won't be visiting there often, unless I need a pen I can't get in Stroll In or Lewis Baker!
The 2 year free rent is just a rumour as far as I know. But it would not be suprising if a shop as big as W H Smith were given some sort of deal. Even that is just conjecture.
The 2 years free rent must be a great incentive for any big name to open in the precinct. Well done to the owners for giving these big chains such an advantage over the struggling independant shops that pay the full rent

It is good news for Abingdon that we now have leaseholders that are putting some effort into getting shops open.
The increased footfall generated will help all traders in the town centre.
Personally I will also continue to buy as much as I can at the independent shops, but overall the important thing is to get more people shopping.
I aim only to buy things in there that I can't get elsewhere in Abingdon.
