National Poetry Day on Level 8 and 9 of the Abingdon Charter Car Park

National Poetry Day
The Level 8 grafitti,
has been totally removed –
none of it by Banksy.
So it will not make the news…

Today was – a time to  .
National Poetry Day
Outside, at Level 9, the moon had risen above the County Hall in the South,
National Poetry Day
and the sun was setting behind Trinity Church in the West.

Praise to those who cleaned Level 8
And made it fit to view.
Let’s hope that if it’s not too late
They’ll have a go at the subway murals too!

There was an old man from Abingdon
Who decided to spray paint just for fun
    It caused an outcry
    People cried ‘oh why’
And threw him off the museum roof like a bun!

Does to brown wooden door on the basement level still have the grafitti (writing) on it? A particularly fine example of the sweary nihilist’s art I thought.

    Abingdon, Witney or Wantage
    Which one has the advantage?
    They are all lovely towns
With their own pros and cons
So lets celebrate what we have got.
