There is new member only leisure club with great facilities for over 55’s. If you are of an age to benefit, you can find out more from The Riverly Club.
The club is inside Bridge House, the new Care Home near Waitrose. Annual membership is £80 for single membership and £140 for joint membership. Facilities include spa, library, gym, cinema, and cafe bar.
The cinema is also used by the AGE UK Film Club for screenings of recent films, at just £3 a time, and the seats are so much better than those found in the cinemas in Oxford and Didcot.
Thanks to Chantelle for letting me know.
Only another 4 years to go, then I could join.
I saw this when I parked my car one afternoon..:-)
Not often we have a reason for wanting to get older! Apart from when we were children!
Is there anybody reading this blog who is a member and can report?
ppjs – I work there – you are very very welcome to come along and see what is on offer and we can put you in touch with other members
Do they do a pro rata membership, I will be visiting from OZ for 3 months this year and need to keep active?
Ellen – I don’t know about the Riverly Club but there is another place you could look at: Fitness in Time is a small, friendly ladies only gym which has members of all ages and abilities. http://www.fitnessintime.co.uk
I don’t think I want to join a club that needs me to be over-55 to join…..
