This April 1st the City Daily Photo has asked us to do a start of the month theme day called ‘camera shy self portrait’.
So here is one of me accidentally reflected in the side of a very shiny piano at the recent Abingdon Music Centre concert.
City Daily Photo has moreĀ Camera-Shy Self Portraits.

What would you miss most about leaving Abingdon Forever?
It goes without saying that I would miss the people. I would also miss living so close to the River Ock and River Thames – two very different rivers.
The swans were pictures on Christmas Day 2014 near St Helen’s Wharf.
I’m participating in the City Daily Photo Theme Day for Feb 1st.

Prince Albert Memorial at 149
The Prince Albert memorial has been a landmark in Abingdon for 149 years.
His foundation was put in 150 years ago, in 1864, three years after the good prince died at the age of 42, and left the queen and nation in mourning. The monument is 48 feet high and designed by John Gibbs of Oxford.
Albert is cared for by the Albert Memorial (Abingdon) Trust, a charity whose aims are to maintain, preserve, and keep in good repair the Albert Memorial situated in Albert Park, Abingdon.
It is the start of the month and the city daily photo community choose a theme and this month it is landmark. To view other landmarks visit here.
Blur of Movement
The October 1st theme for the City Daily Photo is movement. You can see other bloggers’ posts here.
I took a couple of pictures from in front of St Nicolas Church. The first shows the blur of a moving cyclist with the County Hall behind.
The second, taken a couple of hours later, shows the blur of a moving car with the County Hall behind.
Nikolaus Pevsner said of the building: “Of the free-standing town halls of England with open ground floors this is the grandest“.
