Terry Wogan will be at The Bookstore, Bury Street, on Saturday 22nd November, signing copies of his latest book called ‘Little Book of Common Sense: Or Pause for Thought with Wogan.’
Ian, from The Bookstore, was busy creating a Christmas window display most of today.
With the lights, purple sheets, snow, and reindeer, he has created something to wonder at.

First Lights of Christmas
The Abingdon Christmas Extravaganza Festival is a month away on Saturday 29th November. The first lights were being put up today in preparation. This included several red and white Christmas Trees down Stert Street, and assorted lights down Bath Street and West St Helen Street.
The larger street decorations will follow in the coming days.
A large number of shops are already well prepared for Christmas. Others will have to first take down Halloween pumpkins before turning on the real glitz for the biggest commercial festival of the year.
Paddington Bear at Throwing Buns
Paddington Bear was at Throwing Buns yesterday morning, and as a special there were marmalade sandwiches on the menu.
Paddington was there to give moral support to Kate from Throwing Buns who will be running the London Marathon next month (all 26 miles!!). There are sponsor forms in Throwing Buns. Money raised goes to ‘Action medical research.’
Night Garden comes to Abingdon
Igglepiggle and Upsy Daisy star in a television program called ‘The Night Garden’, designed as a relaxing bedtime program.
The shop they enjoyed visiting most in Abingdon could well have been The Nursery Shop. There were lots of children with their parents there to meet them.
They enjoyed meeting lots of different kinds of people, not just their usual audience.
Their appeal seems to have reached people of all ages.
As night fell they were still out and about, and went up on stage when the Christmas Lights were turned on.
Igglepiggle does not speak a lot but seemed to enjoy what was a tiring day and must have enjoyed the night’s sleep afterwards.
