The Runaway Fair grew

T’was in the year of 2006 on a warm October Day
The man with the camera recorded it all in yellow and pink and grey
The rides laid out along the street, they grew and they grew and they grew
And the miniature wheel was set up in place for kids to cry with an — oooh!

The runaway fair came into town and she grew,
The runaway fair came into town and she grew,
The runaway fair came into town, the rides came in and couldn’t go back,
And she grew grew grew grew grew…

( This ride did try to reverse back and bumbed into the barrier.)

John Mason Art Studios and Gallery

The first picture show the entrance to the new Art studios and gallery space at John Mason School. It was opened in July this year.

John Mason have an Artist in Residence ( Dionne Barber). She was working with a group of students in one studio area. There were a number of studio areas off a wide central corridor.

This picture is taken from a viewing area overlooking the corridor. The majority of the visitors were just leaving to hear the headteacher (Mr Corrie) give his speech. This was the John Mason School Open Evening. All the secondary schools have an Open Evening this time of year to help Year six pupils decide where they want to go next.

This is one of the rooms upstairs. On the central table are examples of the students’ work. The room is used for animatronics, hence all those VDUs in the background.

Kingcraft Boat Centre Plans

The first picture is looking down towards Abingdon Bridge with boats shining in the early morning sunlight.

The second picture is of Kingcraft boat centre, at sunset.

The boat centre was in the Abingdon Herald last week. The owner has planning permission to create a two storey building, including a restaurant. What he hasn’t got is a long term lease. He must negotiate that with the hard headed Vale of White Horse District Council.
