The execution

Last time the bridge was mentioned it was being surrounded by a scaffold.

Since then it has been covered with sheets so that the execution is not in full view of the public.

The weekend has come, and the little bridge is enjoying a short reprieve.

But for the sides of the bridge it is already too late.

Seven Ages ending in Chocolate

This show at the Guildhall can be seen here advertised in the window of AfPic.

It was based round Shakespeare’s Seven Ages of Man, and improvised in seven parts from babyhood through to second childhood.

The show was good: but my pictures are NOT. This is Kevin, as a young woman, trying out flirtation techniques on a volunteer from the audience.

Here are more blurred pictures, ending with death in white mask, and holding a sickle, coming to the old man in stage seven as he finished remembering his life – a short life on the stage made up of suggestions written on pieces of paper by the audience.

If there is an afterlife, all I ask of God … – the old man picked up the last piece of paper – … is Chocolate.”

Voices

At Abingdon Baptist Church there is an art exhibition called ‘Voices’. John sent me the first picture.

‘Voices’ is mostly the work of an art group who meet at 35 Ock Street, the Church in Abingdon’s open house, next door. There is art work all around the church until Saturday and some at 35 Ock Street.

But the exhibition includes outside pieces like this one by an Oxford Artist. It is partly inspired by the idea of people persecuted for their faith.

I can hear your voice but cannot hear what you are saying.
