All the bikes are to be found locked on one side of the fence, off Stratton Way, or against the upturned U stands nearby. The wheel gripper / butterfly stands are all unused the other side of the fence.

A donkey came to help lead the Palm Sunday procession, starting at the Reynolds Way shops in South Abingdon.

Pollyanne, the resue donkey, is much sought after for church work. She has also taken part in carnivals, and appeared in Operas at Covent Garden.

She led the procession to the Preston Road Community Centre, and did not bray AT ALL during the fifteen minute service of hymns and prayers.

The retiring collection was for the Island Farm Donkey Sanctuary where she lives.

It was announced a short while ago… “U.S. President Barack Obama has captured the Biography of the Year prize at the Galaxy British Book Awards for his bestseller, Dreams from My Father… Book of the Year was handed to The Suspicions Of Mr. Whicher by Kate Summerscale.”

The Book of the Year winner, Kate Summerscale, was in Abingdon, doing a talk, and signing books in the Roysse Room. This is thanks to Mostly Books who were promoting her book before it became famous.
