2 new flats

2 flats
This grade II listed building at number 6 East St Helen Street was converted to offices in 1981 for Pryce & Co Solicitors, previously of Roysse Court – where the registry office now is.

Pryce & Co were once known as Pryce, Carslaw & Lillies. Pryce & Co merged with another Abingdon solicitor in 2007 and since then the building in East St Helen Street has been empty, although the signs have remained.

There are plans now to convert the building into flats: one flat on the ground floor and basement, another on the first and second floor.

Anyone know what’s become of the now-empty chip shop in the precinct? What’s become of the plaice?

Oh for cod sake This Charming Man that was awfull. If your fishing for praise for your whitty batter your not getting any here! I was told the big fish in there was shelfish and had to be taken with a pinch of salt. To be honest I always thought he had a chip on his shoulder.
Im sure it will look lovely when the shop fritters and chippies have done their bit!!!!!!

Shame on you gentlemen. The chip shop provided hot ,nutritious low cost meals for people with low incomes, the unemployed and pensioners alike. I was in the Precinct when the heavens opened and I, along with others was glad of the shelter from the overhanging walk ways. The new design does not provide any shelter from the elements. Another case of Architects not having any regard for the needs of the public. I would have been glad of popping into the chip shop for a warming coffee.

Native: you’ve no sole and seem hard to peas. I guess you’re a ‘plenty more fish in the sea’ type. The big fish in there was no vinegar-face.

But you’re right, if it reopens I’ll be in hook, line and sinker.

Not good news for the Kings Head and Bell, how long before the new residents complain about pub noise and they are forced by the council to cut their hours, ridiculous idea if you ask me!
