Monday Evening Brings Young Crowds to the Fair

Hello to the second day of the Abingdon Michaelmas Fair. It was another sunny day.

If you like Mexican food, Dorindos were serving street food,

as an alternative to all the burgers, chips, doughnuts and candyfloss – the staple fair food.

I like how they have positioned Booster at the end of Victoria Road. From down the road you get a good view of how high it rises when it is at its resting height. It is probably the highest ride at the fair.

Although, according to the notice on the Helter Skelter, it thinks it is still the highest: “This attraction is the highest on the fair.”

There were big crowds and, if yesterday was more of a family day, today seemed to be the day for groups of young people.

Like yesterday, Sunday, the sun dazzled and, as it went down, gave people a golden glow.

After dark, the big rides with their thumping tunes and bright lights grab the most attention. They are much the same every year and usually in the same position.

Here we have quite a laser light show as well as a rollicking ride.

It all takes place around the historic buildings of Abingdon. The County Hall steps are a good place to take it all in.
